My name is Elzane van Bosch and I am currently serving as an HPCSA Registered Counsellor and Psychometrist at a Special School within the Department of Education. With over 17 years of experience in Educational and Psychological services, I am registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Registered Counsellor and a Registered Psychometrist. Additionally, I am registered with the South African Council for Educators (SACE).

I hold the following academic qualifications from North-West University, Vaal Campus, South Africa:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Behavioural Sciences (Psychology) (2005),
  • Bachelor of Psychology (BPsych) (2006),
  • BA Honours in Industrial Psychology(2007),
  • Master of Arts in Psychology (Thesis) (2013) – Dissertation Title: “Psychological Factors Contributing to Aggressive or Violent Behaviour of Adolescents in Secondary Schools.”

Currently, I am a third-year student in Forensic Science and Technology (Criminology stream) at UNISA, expanding my knowledge in forensic investigation.

Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to supporting vulnerable learners through counselling, assessments, and intervention strategies, collaborating with government and law enforcement to ensure they receive the necessary support. I played a key role in establishing the Counselling Department at Krugerlaan School, where I developed support programs and organized various capacity-building initiatives for learners and staff.

As Resource Coordinator (2017-2021 ), I managed financial accountability and resource allocation for district schools, ensuring transparency and effective use of resources. I also continue to contribute to financial oversight and strategic decisions as part of the School Governing Body (2024-2027). Additionally, I manage the school’s social media, photography, and local media relations.
I bring skills in organizing, project management, quality assurance, and problem-solving. A team player who values confidentiality and ethical standards, I thrive under pressure and embrace change. My long-term vision is to develop a risk assessment program for the Department of Education to improve safety and support in schools.
